Description
With the recent changes in the regulations for deer hunting firearms in the Midwest, we are producing a custom 450 Bushmaster rifle package that is absolutely devastating on game. The custom ammunition developed together with these rifles will consistently give 3/4″ or smaller groups making this rifle 400 yard capable. The 240 grain HV all copper bullet leaves the muzzle generating over 3,400 ft-lbs of muzzle energy.
The Action
- The Predator & TAC 30 actions have a number of features that factory actions lack. It uses the most dependable extractor available today and has an enlarged primary extraction camming surface. It uses #8 screws for scope base mounting. The bolt is one piece, hand lapped to the action and fluted for better in field function. The firing pin is fluted for faster lock time and is fully supported within the bolt body.
Stock Options
- The Remington Hunter is a beautifully designed stock with a Monte Carlo cheekpiece as well as a small palm swell. The uniquely designed fine line checkering adds to the “custom” look of this stock. This stock is patterned after the factory Sako 75 varmint and has been adapted specifically for Remington 700 actions.
The Barrel
- Douglas XX premium grade stainless; 1:16 twist; #5A contour.
- We have found a 23″ barrel to be the optimal length for the 450 Bushmaster cartridge.
- One of our custom muzzle brakes come with the rifle package and is fit to the barrel. If you do not want the threaded muzzle with muzzle brake, we can machine a target crown instead.
The Trigger
- Featuring TriggerTech’s Frictionless Release Technology™, this drop-in trigger provides a true zero-creep break, extremely short over-travel and offers outstanding reliability, even in the harshest environments. Utilizing CLKR Technology™, the pull weight is quickly and confidently adjusted from 1.5 – 4.0 lbs in 1oz increments from an externally accessible set screw. Due to the exceptionally crisp break, most shooters report the pull weights feeling ~0.5lbs lighter than a friction based trigger of the same measured pull weight. Frictionless Release Technology™, along with hardened 440C stainless steel internal components ensure corrosion resistance and an extended service life.
Barrel and Bolt Fluting
- Full length straight barrel fluting is available in the selection list above.
Forearm Picatinny Rail
- An option that we started to offer is a picatinny rail that is bolted to the forearm of the stock, this allows the operator to attach a bi-pod or other accessories to the front forearm of the rifle as well as having a spot to attach a sling. Many customers enjoy attaching an Atlas Bi-pod to this rail due to its rigidity and light weight.
Optics / Scope Mounts
- The majority of our rifles are built using Leupold scopes utilizing the CDS turret system. We have built many rifles with the CDS system with great results. If you choose to go the route of the Leupold CDS system, we will match the drop of the ammunition to the CDS turret. We can build the rifle with a customer supplied scope as well.
- We believe Talley one piece scope rings are the best combination of price and performance. All scope rings are assembled to the receiver and lapped to common center line to eliminate manufacturing tolerances and prevent inducing any torque in to the scope tube once the scope is assembled to the receiver.
