    200 yard groups

Posted by Jerad on Mar 17th 2025

I have tried 6 or 7 types/brands of ammo for my 16" Ruger American. Prior to using the 240 grain HV's, my groups were 4-5" on average. I've only shot 20 rounds of this and I have, after playing around, shot a 3-shot and a 4-shot group under 2" (i.e. sub-MOA). The groups were about 1.8" C-C. There is considerable recoil versus your normal off-the-shelf ammunition. I will be buying more of this in the near future!

    240 HV

I changed over all 3 450s this year in my family, each rifle shot Sub 1/2 groups. We shot 4 Deer at 125, 145, 210, and 295 yards. The rounds performed as advertised. Very good blood trial out of each of the them. The round is best off the shelves ammunition you can get without question. Thanks for a great product.

Used the 240gr HV ammunition for the first time this year

Posted by Robert Toker on Mar 5th 2025

Used the 240gr HV ammunition for the first time this year. Shooting a Ruger M77 Scout rifle. 2-7x Burris scout scope. Sub MOA groups at 100 yards. Was able to Take a management doe here in Ohio yesterday at 110 yards measured. Dropped her in her tracks. This is the best hunting ammo for the .450 hands down!!

450BM 240 HVs’ does it again! Took down 1000# 8x9 bull Elk, double lung shot at 30 yds. DRT, perfectly mushroomed under off side hide, dumping over 3000ft pounds of energy hitting him like a truck. Same results on deer DRT! Only 450BM ammo I will shoot!

100yd dead on zero no problem holding sub MOA with Christensen Arms Mesa. BCB ballistic chart very close to actual results, easily stacking a 2 inch group at 200 yds. Just for kicks was ringing a 8” gong at 300 yds. Was impressed with terminal performance, harvested a big mature 200# plus Indiana buck. Shot him bedded straight on broadside in the shoulder, deer jumped up staggered 10 yds and fell over. Entry hole about thumb size, exit around 2 1/2 inches almost liquifying the lungs and heart.

    450 Bushmaster 240 Grain Ammo

Son got his first deer this year 8 point with the 240gr at 70 yards. Shot from Ruger Stainless Gunsite. Did a complete pass through with a good blood trail. Ran 30-40 yards. I like that Bear Creek upped the velocity for bolt gun owners, something that sets them apart from all others. More likely to get a pass through and also makes it easier on longer shots with much less bullet drop vs the stock Hornady ammo. Right now I don't think Bear Creek has any true competition in terms of performance.
