Firearms and Ammunition Shipping Policies

1. Compliance with Federal, State, and Local Laws

All shipments of firearms and ammunition are subject to compliance with federal, state, and local laws. The Buyer is solely responsible for knowing and adhering to the applicable laws governing the receipt, possession, and use of firearms and ammunition in their jurisdiction.

2. Firearms Shipping Policies

  • Federal Firearms License (FFL) Requirement:
    All firearms must be shipped to a verified FFL holder. The Buyer is required to provide Bear Creek Ballistics with the FFL information prior to shipment. Bear Creek Ballistics will only ship firearms to the address listed on the FFL.
    • Required Documentation:
      The Buyer must provide the receiving FFL’s license and contact information. The receiving FFL will be responsible for transferring the firearm to the Buyer in accordance with local laws and performing any required background checks.
  • Firearms Shipment Timing: 
    Firearms will be shipped within 5–7 business days after the Buyer’s payment has cleared and the receiving FFL’s information has been verified. Shipping times may vary based on the location and availability of the FFL holder.
  • Signature Requirement: 
    All firearms shipments will require an adult signature upon delivery. No firearm will be delivered without verification of the recipient’s age and identity in accordance with federal law.
  • Restrictions on Shipping Firearms: 
    Bear Creek Ballistics will not ship firearms to certain states, cities, or jurisdictions where local laws prohibit the sale or possession of specific firearms or firearm types. The Buyer is responsible for understanding the laws in their jurisdiction.

3. Ammunition Shipping Policies

  • Age Verification: 
    The Buyer must be at least 21 years old to purchase handgun and rifle ammunition. Bear Creek Ballistics may require age verification prior to shipping ammunition.
  • Separate Shipments for Firearms and Ammunition: 
    Firearms and ammunition must be purchased and shipped separately. Bear Creek Ballistics will not ship firearms and ammunition in the same order or package.
  • FFL Requirement for Ammunition: 
    Certain states and localities require an FFL for the purchase of ammunition. The Buyer is responsible for providing an FFL where required by local laws. Ammunition will not be shipped to jurisdictions where it is prohibited without an FFL. These include, but are not limited to:
    • California: Requires shipment to an FFL.
    • New York City, NY: No ammunition sales allowed.
    • Cook County, IL: No ammunition sales without an FFL.
    • Washington, D.C.: No ammunition sales without an FFL.
  • Prohibited Ammunition Shipments:
    Bear Creek Ballistics will not ship ammunition to:
    • APO/FPO addresses
    • PO Boxes
    • Locations where ammunition sales are prohibited by law, including but not limited to Brooklyn, NY; Manhattan, NY; Oakland, CA; and Chicago, IL without proper documentation (e.g., FOID card).

4. Shipping Methods

  • Carrier and Insurance: 
    All firearms and ammunition shipments will be sent via a common carrier that complies with federal regulations. Shipping insurance is recommended but not included unless requested by the Buyer. Bear Creek Ballistics is not responsible for lost or damaged shipments unless insurance has been purchased.
  • Shipping Costs: 
    Shipping costs for firearms and ammunition are calculated based on the Buyer’s location, order size, and carrier selection. The Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs, including any additional fees incurred due to local laws or restrictions.
  • Shipping Delays:
    Bear Creek Ballistics is not responsible for delays caused by the carrier, natural disasters, or acts of God. Buyers will be notified of any unforeseen delays in the shipping process.

5. Restricted Shipping Locations

Bear Creek Ballistics does not ship firearms or ammunition to the following states, cities, or jurisdictions due to legal restrictions:

  • California: Certain firearms and ammunition restrictions apply; FFL is required for ammunition.
  • New York City, NY: No firearm or ammunition shipments allowed.
  • Cook County, IL: No firearm or ammunition shipments without an FFL.
  • Washington, D.C.: No firearm or ammunition shipments without an FFL.
  • International Shipments: Bear Creek Ballistics does not ship firearms or ammunition outside the United States.

6. Return Policy for Firearms and Ammunition

  • Firearms: 
    All sales of firearms are final. Firearms cannot be returned once they have been transferred to the Buyer by the receiving FFL. If a firearm is defective or damaged during shipping, the Buyer must report the issue to Bear Creek Ballistics within 3 days of receiving the firearm, and Bear Creek Ballistics will work with the manufacturer for warranty or repair services.
  • Ammunition: 
    Due to safety and legal concerns, Bear Creek Ballistics does not accept returns on ammunition once it has been shipped. If the ammunition is defective or damaged in transit, the Buyer must notify Bear Creek Ballistics within 6 days of receipt for replacement options.

7. Legal Responsibility

The Buyer is solely responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding the purchase, possession, and transfer of firearms and ammunition. By placing an order, the Buyer certifies that they are legally permitted to purchase and possess the items in their order.
